Seminary Park
The Seminary Park project began with a vision developed by an intern with the Noblesville Planning & Park Departments. Mader Design was enlisted to further the vision, leading the Park Department and a group of local residents through the master planning, design, and construction phases of the project. The vision was to re-energize an older urban park just south of downtown Noblesville. The vision celebrates the history of a school that once occupied the site. A new shelter that serves as an event space is centered in the park and is surrounded by a large plaza and small lawn amphitheater. Paths meander to connect all sides of the park, with new benches, water fountains, extensive planting beds and preserved trees. Local residents desired to make Seminary Park a destination for peonies, incorporating hundreds of plants representing over a dozen new peony species. Historic style lighting extends park use for neighbors, with Edison bulb light strings floating above the walkways throughout the park. Designed for year-round use, the grand opening was perfectly orchestrated to begin the neighborhood’s holiday light celebration!
